Thanks to its many farms and a famous annual festival, Gilroy has earned the title of “Garlic Capital of the World.” But this Central Coast town has a lot more to offer than just garlicky treats: it’s also a prime shopping destination, thanks in part to the expansive Gilroy Premium Outlets, with its 145 stores featuring big brands and designers.
About 84 miles south of San Francisco and 41 miles northeast of Monterey, the outlets actually provide a key stop along U.S. Highway 101. Aside from the shops and eateries, the mall is home to a California Welcome Center, where you can pick up free maps, visitor’s guides, coupons, and more to fuel your explorations in the area. (It’s also another good spot in town to pick up some garlic-laden goodies and souvenirs.) The mall is also just five miles from Gilroy Gardens, the charming theme park with agriculturally themed rides and whimsical Circus Trees.

Or, pick up premium workout gear at Lululemon and Athletica, and outdoor adventure clothes and gear at The North Face outlet.
