Join the fantasy of the Middle Ages—a time of chivalrous knights, fair maidens, and dazzling swordplay—at Medieval Times, a branch of the high-spirited indoor attraction located in the heart of Orange County’s Buena Park.
It’s hard to know what kids like best: the jousting, the horses, the acrobatic moves, or the chance to dig into dinner, medieval style—as in, with your hands. This is a join-in-the-fun-and-clank-your-steins kind of place, with generous doses of singing, spirited competitions, and tomfoolery. Each show ends with a knight being crowned champion of the jousting festivities.
A key factor for boosting your enjoyment is to arrive early: Seating is first-come, first served, and close-up seats can add to the fun. A little planning ahead can help, too. Check the ticketing page for special rates, and consider buying an upgrade to your evening, like the Queen’s Royalty package, which grants you first-row seating, a banner to wave, and a framed photo of your group. The Celebration package, meanwhile, includes those priority seating perks, a slice of cake for everyone in your group, and an announcement made during the show—yet another reason for everyone to clank their steins, but this time in your honor.
The evening makes a nice addition to a visit to Buena Park, the home of Knott’s Berry Farm. Medieval Times is located on Beach Boulevard—just a few minutes from the berry-themed amusement park as well Knott’s Soak City. It’s also next door to the Orange County branch of Porto’s Bakery, and down the street from an impressive, brick-by-brick replica of Independence Hall.
