Toyota U.S. Snowboard and Freeski Grand Prix

Watch the best snowboarding and freeskiing athletes in person at this Mammoth Mountain event

Head to Mammoth Mountain Ski Area the first week in March to see top athletes go head-to-head at the four-day Toyota U.S. Snowboard and Freeski Grand Prix. The spectator-friendly halfpipe and slopestyle competitions award purses of $50,000 for each halfpipe and slopestyle event, but the real takeaway for winners here is earning the bragging rights as being the best in the world.

Spectators can get an up-close view of the shredding from multiple vantage points around the competition, which will take place in the Unbound Terrain Parks’ Main Park and 22-foot halfpipe. If you want to ski or snowboard during the event, cheer from the resort’s popular Broadway run, adjacent to the course. You can also view tricks from the base of the Super Duper Pipe (there will be snow stairs), or head to the Main Lodge sundeck, where you can watch the action with a hot chocolate or beer in hand.

Expect to spot Mammoth Team athletes Chloe Kim, Judd Henkes, Brock Crouch, Maddie Mastro, Josh Bowman and others, as they take on the difficult course designed specifically for this event. That attention to course design results in behemoth jumps and rail options that have the kind of creativity, quality, and innovation that inspires competitors to attempt to pull off some of the biggest and most impressive tricks of the season.

Outside of the competition, the event will also bring big names to the Sponsor Village located slopeside between Broadway Express (Chair 1) and Unbound Express (Chair 6) at Main Lodge on Friday or Saturday to pick up souvenir swag, win prizes, and maybe meet some of the competitors.
