In Visit California’s latest TV spot, “Born to Be Wild,” you’ll see road-trippers traveling all over the Golden State—from the Chandelier Drive-Thru Tree on the North Coast to Alabama Hills, where massive boulders and arches create an otherworldly landscape near Lone Pine.
Set to the tune of the song by the same name, the commercial invites drivers to "get your motor running and head out on the highway" by traveling on your own terms.
The new commercial features 11 Golden State destinations you can visit yourself—including coastal Mendocino, picturesque Silver Lake, the Instagrammable Hot Creek Geologic Site in Mammoth, and much more. Some of the spots could be considered hidden gems, while others are bucket-list classics, like Napa Valley and Malibu. Learn more about each location (and how to see them in person) here.
In addition to this far-flung journey, we also have more than 50 road trip itineraries to build your dream adventure—including an epic cruise along top surfing spots, the bucket-list drive along the classic Highway 1, and trips to visit volcanoes, famous movie locations, undiscovered wine regions, and more.
