It’s no secret that cycling legend Peter Sagan loves training and racing in California. The multi-time World Champion holds the most stage wins of any cyclist in the Amgen Tour of California (16), and is often referred to as the “King of California” when he races here every May. The Sagan Fondo gives recreational cyclists two opportunities to ride alongside the champion cyclist.

On Nov. 3, the “Road Edition” will take place in the town of Windsor in Sonoma County. The event kicks off with a fundraising dinner in at Villa Chanticleer in Healdsburg on Thursday, Nov. 1, to raise money for the Specialized Foundation. Tickets includes a “lavish meal paired with hand-picked wines from Sonoma County” and are $220/person.

The ride takes place on Saturday, Nov. 3, and is open to all levels of cyclists. Three ride options are available: the Long Route (68 miles), the Medio Route (45 miles), and the Piccolo Route (22 miles).

In May, the Sagan Fondo “Truckee Dirt Edition” returns for 2019. Best done on a gravel, cyclocross, or mountain bike, riders can choose from 68-, 54-, and 23-mile routes around the active mountain town of Truckee. After the event on Saturday, May 5, participants are invited to attend the after-party at FiftyFifty Brewing Co., which recently won the Great American Beer Festival award for Brewery Group of the Year.
