Everybody knows that California is a fantastic place to participate in a variety of sports, including surfing and sand volleyball on the coast, skiing and snowboarding in the mountains, and cycling and rock climbing all over. It’s also a spectacular place for spectator sports. Five Major League Baseball teams play here (the Padres, Angels, Dodgers, Athletics, and Giants) and the state also hosts three National Football League franchises; four National Basketball Association teams; three National Hockey League teams; and three Major League Soccer clubs.
